From Local Service to Beacon Hill: Leadership Rooted in Plymouth

Plymouth families are feeling squeezed from every direction: higher utility bills, new taxes, rising costs, and state policies that put Boston's agenda ahead of our community's needs. David Golden is running for State Representative to restore balance, fiscal responsibility, and common sense to Beacon Hill.

David brings real-world experience from both public service and private industry. He currently serves at a municipal services firm, traveling throughout the region to work directly with municipalities and client communities. In this role, David provides expert advice, hands-on support, and sound property valuation services, helping towns implement fair and efficient property assessment systems.

Previously, David served as Vice President of the Regional Resource Group, overseeing human resources, client engagement, and business development. His experience extends to housing and community development, where he served as a former Consultant and Program Director for the Plymouth Redevelopment Authority, helping administer affordable housing programs and connecting local residents with stable, affordable homes.

David's strong work ethic was evident even during his college years, when he balanced five jobs simultaneously, working at a local restaurant, in the campus center, as a resident assistant, as a shuttle driver, and in the Political Science Department's polling call center.

A Record of Service

David currently serves as a member of the Plymouth Select Board, where he was elected by his peers to serve as Vice Chairman and later as Chairman. As Select Board Chair, David has worked to strengthen local government's responsiveness to residents, prioritize fiscal responsibility, and promote economic development that respects Plymouth's history and character.

David has also chaired the Charter Review Committee and the Memorials Advisory Committee. His record of service includes roles on the Board of Health, the Manomet Steering Committee (as Vice Chair), and the Cultural Council. He is also a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Notary Public and a Licensed Real Estate Broker.

Family & Values

As a husband and father, David understands the challenges that Massachusetts families face every day—from paying the mortgage and childcare costs to managing rising taxes and utility bills. He believes in creating a Commonwealth where hard work is rewarded, where parents can afford to stay and raise their children, and where every decision on Beacon Hill considers the future we're leaving to those who come next.
